You make a lot of good points.

Good thing we don't have a tyrannical form of government and/or we’re not ruled by a dictator. We have the House of Representatives and Congress to evade (hopefully) any absurd decisions that the president will make.

However, we were all immigrants at one time or another (barring Native Americans of course). If you think about it; our ancestors were illegal’s. I’m pretty sure the pilgrims weren’t sworn in when they stepped on that rock in Plymouth. We can thank the antediluvian charting system that guided the lads here. Bet the natives weren’t too happy though. Guess they didn’t have a Radio Shack nearby that carried a quality GPS :^}

I absolutely do not agree with giving the illegitimate newcomers everything for free. Nonetheless, if they’re going to be in this country anyway put'em to work and on the books. Make them accountable and pay taxes like the majority of us. At least we may (Current US Citizens) get something out of them.

Correct me if I’m wrong but the reason why Cal. is going bankrupt is due to illegal’s working in the state and not paying in to the communities. My bet is their sending the money home. My apologies if this statement is inaccurate. I’m not as current in respect to California politics and affairs.

As far as the energy policies go: this country, or any country for that matter, can not continue to be dependent on fossil fuels. We need not repudiate and invest in alternative energy sources. I certainly didn’t get the warm and fuzzy from the McCain campaign.

I totally agree with you in regard to Homeland Security so I have nothing to say here.

woe is me

Where do I even start? I know it has been forever, but I was kind of waiting for the shock to wear off. The shock being I can’t believe that for the first time in the history of this nation there has never been a less informed electorate vote for such a woefully inexperienced person and a lot of them love it. The policies are ludicrous; I have yet to hear any economist of notoriety agree with wheat is proposed. Add to that the tremendous amount of ridiculous projects that are going to be funded, the give away of what amounts to welfare for people who haven’t paid in and income tax and yet are going to get a rebate. My head is about to explode with the overwhelming stupidity that knows no bounds in this government. Bush spent like a crazed lunatic and Obama wants to increase the very thing that got us into this situation. Then we have the new gentler policies that are going to be put forth by Pinnetta. What are they thinking? They are just inviting terrorists to hit us by lessening the vigilance of homeland security. The Illegal alien problem is going to bankrupt the rest of the country as it is California, and they want to grant amnesty and give them free everything.

The energy policy in this country is an embarrassment, here is a for instance; Does anybody out there have any memory of the reason
given for establishing the DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY during the Carter Administration?
Anybody?
Anything?
No?
Didn't think so.
Bottom line ... we've spent several hundred billion dollars supporting an agency, the reason for which not one person who reads this can remember.
Ready? It was very simple, and at the time everybody thought it very appropriate:
The Department of Energy was instituted 8-04-1977 TO
LESSEN OUR DEPENDENCE ON FOREIGN OIL. Hey, pretty efficient, huh?
NOW IT'S 2009, 32 YEARS LATER,
THIS 'ESSENTIAL' DEPARTMENT'S BUDGET IS $24.2 BILLION A YEAR,
THEY HAVE 16,000 FEDERAL EMPLOYEES AND APPROXIMATELY 100,000 CONTRACT EMPLOYEES AND LOOK AT THE JOB THEY HAVE DONE!
This is where you have to wrap your head with Duct tape so it won’t explode,
and say: "WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?"
Ah yes, good ole bureaucracy!
Now they want to turn our banking system over to these clowns and control major giant companies. “Lord have mercy” This could go on literally for pages and pages, but you get the gist.

I shudder to think of what this country will look like. If you take California as an example you probably have a microcosm of what it will look like. You will have hard working people paying for slackers. You will have U.S. citizens footing the bill for illegal aliens. I’m not saying that many of them aren’t hard working, but what don’t they get about ILEGAL. I saw an interview with Vincente Fox; it was about his new book. At no time did he mention the word illegal throughout the whole book. He and Juan Hernandez together with Obama and people like McCain will ruin this country as sure as welfare checks come out on the first of the month.
You put that together with taking the teeth out of homeland security and the other knuckle-headed ideas they want to enact and you have a recipe for disaster if ever I saw one.

Well if I can bring myself to overcome my general malaise about this situation I will post more goodies.
