President Barack Obama has sent a secret letter to Russia offering a nuclear trade-off.
Obama offered to back off deploying a new missile defense system in Eastern Europe if Russia helps stop Iran from building nuclear weapons, American media reported. Obama offered the deal in a letter hand-delivered to Russian President Dmitri Medvedev in Moscow last month by top administration officials. Senior U.S. officials confirmed the report.' The letter touched on a range of subjects, including missile defense and how it relates to the Iranian threat,' an official stated. Russia vehemently opposes the deployment of a U.S. missile defense system in Poland and the Czech Republic. The system was proposed by the administration of former President George Bush.
Moscow has not yet responded to Obama's offer, the report said. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is set to meet with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov inGeneva Friday.
William Burns, the State Department's political director and a former U.S. ambassador to Russia, went to Moscow in February to help prepare for that meeting and to broach ideas to improve ties.
If you don’t agree with all of Obama’s policies, take heart, there is one person who agrees with nearly all his policies and says that we have a friend and ally in the White House. Oh, did I forget to mention his name? Sam Webb, the head of the American Communist party.
What the hell is going on?
Okay, first we are spending more money in three months than every president since Washington to Bush, which will in effect indebt the next two generations. The illusion that Barack Obama will lead from the economic center has quickly come to an end. Instead of combining the best policies of past Democratic presidents -- John Kennedy on taxes, Bill Clinton on welfare reform and a balanced budget, President Obama is returning to Jimmy Carter's higher taxes and Clinton's draconian defense drawdown. Obama's $3.6 trillion budget blueprint, by his own admission, redefines the role of government in our economy and society. The budget more than doubles the national debt held by the public, adding more to the debt than all previous presidents -- from George Washington to George W. Bush -- combined. It reduces defense spending to a level not sustained since the dangerous days before World War II, while increasing nondefense spending (relative to GDP) to the highest level in U.S. history. It would raise taxes to historically high levels (again, relative to GDP). All of this before even addressing the impending explosion in Social Security and Medicare costs because of all the baby boomers.
Now we have secret letters, secret talks with Dmitry Medvedev on behalf of Obama to hold off on deployment of the missile defense system in Poland and the Czech Republic. That may not be such a bad idea, but where is it leading us? Appeasement just simply will not work with some factions.
Get this, the war in Afghanistan is to tough for poor little Barry now that reality has smacked him square in the face, so now he wants to appeal to the more moderate Taliban and make some sort of appeasement deal, what the F*** is that? more moderate Taliban is an oxymoron if I ever heard one. Anyone who has not been either living in a vacuum, or under a rock, knows that the main goal of the Taliban is to terrorize and eliminate the infidels. There is no making a deal unless in includes everyone convert to Islam and do as they say, oh yeah and they decide who gets to live or die at their whim. They are a bunch of nut jobs looking to enslave the world. The temerity of this administration is becoming tiresome and it has just begun.
This is what I see; a total collapse of our system, as we know it, a mass exodus of companies from the U.S., a redistribution of wealth till we run out of other people’s money, that is just for beginners. That of course is supposing that all these policies are carried out.
Here is the problem; Obama has some ideas that have merit, however you can’t do everything all at once, it doesn’t even make sense to try, yet here we are. The shotgun approach is not the way to go at this juncture. We need precision marksmanship. The thing to do is concentrate on the core problems, get that part of the economy back on track and then address the other problems. Right now the democrat controlled administration and congress are running wild like kids in a candy shop. They have saved up all their Christmas lists for the last forty years and are now going bugshit with it. (By the way, that word “bugshit,” is held in very high regard in argot, lexicon and etymology circles.)
