The day America died

Well it started with Bush and ran right on through the new administration. Actually it started back with Roosevelt and the new deal. It should have been called the raw deal. Oh it had its good and bad points, but it started us down the road to socialism. I’ll try to stay on track here though, I don’t want to get bogged down in history, I will stay with our modern day problems. On February 17, the year of our Lord 2009 the U.S. government took a giant step backwards. President Barack Obama signed a stimulus package for $787bn. That folks, is the largest transfer of your tax dollars in history that you and I haven’t even paid in yet, you know what that means don’t you? Our children and we will be on the hook for this for a long time. Their answer is going to be to print more money. Has any of these knuckleheads ever even looked at any kind of an economic plan? Even a fifth grader knows, the more you have the less it is worth. Our current creditors are in the same soup and are not able to lend any more money for our folly, therefore the answer is to print money. What! Am I the only one who sees this problem? Okay I know I’m not, but hell’s bells, can no one stop this runaway train before it derails? I know that is what Obama and his cronies say they are trying to do, but do they have to settle all their debts at the same time? Payback really is a bitch. Clinton said the era of big government was over, that was one thing he did a good job with, welfare reform, and not letting government swallow up the people. Now we have a reversal of the welfare reform act, 30 mil. For Nancy Pelosi's salt marsh mouse, give me a break. Now they haven’t even got started on wasting our money and they are talking another package. I can’t believe how they rode rough shod over the people, the Senate and Congress. I am so pissed at senators Specter, Snow and Collins I will never vote for those two turn coats again (frigg’n Benedict Arnolds) If they had not sold out, the bill would still be in debate and therefore scrutinized and maybe we wouldn’t have half the pork that is in there, but all this was pretty much axiomatic, wasn’t it. We knew that whoever the people in power were would push their own agenda. It’s just too bad that we the taxpayer have to foot the bill for political payback. I do not believe that there was that much of an emergency to get this passed and by the way, neither does the Primary congressional agency charged with reviewing congressional budgets and other legislative initiatives with budgetary implications, "the Congressional Budget Office." They actually believe the economy will recover with more health and vigor without the stimulus than with it. I don’t know about that, I think we needed something as I said before in another Blog tirade, however the way this was done is bordering on insanity.
Does anyone really think that this was done in the spur of the moment? Come on, it is over a thousand pages. It has a $8 Bil earmark for a Maglev high speed train line from Anaheim California to Las Vegas that they have been trying to get funded for years. As I said, I don’t want to get off track here (pun), but this stuff has been in the works for a long time and finally they got to a point where they could stuff everything in one big barrel of pork. The next generations and we are going to be paying dearly for this. The package has what they are calling universal health care instead of socialized medicine; here we go again with the semantics, I guess it depends on what the definition of is, is. These guys are wearing me out already and they are only getting started.
The reason for the headline is that this country was founded on the antithesis of what we are now heading for, i.e. small government, the people in control, not politicians, however I guess since we are not a democracy, but a representative republic, we have to allow our elected officials some license. The problem arises when they do what “they” want not what “we” want.
As we all know this country was born on the premise of freedom, freedom for the people to pursue their dream, freedom from government to control your life, freedom to win, freedom to become self sufficient, freedom to become rich, and freedom in a capitalist society to fail, pick yourself up and like the mythical phoenix rise from the ashes and become stronger and smarter, so next time you don’t make the same mistakes. Our government is taking us down the opposite road where everyone is becoming dependant upon the government to survive. These brainstorms seem to think they can make it work this way, Oh yeah! Ask the Romans if it worked, ask Europe if it worked, ask Russia if it worked, ask anyone anywhere that socialism was tried if it worked. The answer to that question would be a resounding, NO.
By the way all these supposed intelligentsia think they know what they are doing, like the liberal bastion of the US, the state of California, that is now in failure mode. if spending were the answer, why don’t they follow the feds. lead and just spend their way out of it? Because it doesn’t work, hello! Remember that dumb ol Sarah Palin? Well when her state had a good fiscal outlook and the money was rolling in she didn’t go bugshit growing government and spending like there was no tomorrow, she put money aside for just this type of scenario. Alaska now has billions put aside in the general fund and billions more in specific funds such as education and R&D, while all these other oh so smart people are running the rest of the states down the tubes. Oh yeah, even though things are looking good for them she is still asking for budget cuts, now I don’t know about you, but that is the kind of person I would want in charge of my state or federal finances not Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, hell you could go on and on. It’s like we are dealing with some bogus law firm of “Dewy Cheatham and Howe” instead of what is suppose to be our representatives that are looking out for our best interests.
Then we get Barack Obama appointing Jeffery Immelt, the CEO of GE as an adviser, who ran GE down from a thriving company to a thirteen year low, off by $152 mil. 47% now we get the chance to have him do the same with our money and economy, oh goody. What the F*** is going on here? Are we headed for another civil war? This one perhaps political and financial in nature, but nonetheless a civil war, with a little Boston Tea Party thrown in. That is why I say this country, as we know it is on the edge of the cliff and our leaders are pushing it of into the abyss.
