Why do we think this country went from being basically a wild land, to being the most influential, rich, and most powerful country on the planet in just a few short years, as history goes?
It certainly wasn’t that we took the European model of government, ideology and socialist programs and just moved them geographically to a new place and started over, not by a long shot.
We escaped the tyranny of a system that was not working for the people, only for the government and those to which the governing body wished to bestow its gracious larder upon. We became so powerful so quickly because of the type of government our founding fathers formed. It was a Government, “of the people, by the people, and for the people.” What that meant was that government would secure the basics and get out of the people’s way and allow them and the new system to dictate how and where the country would grow and also how fast. This being unique in history it was an experiment of which no one knew the outcome. As history has shown, this tenuous little experiment unprecedented in history has kick butt. Allowing the entrepreneurial spirit to soar and the free market and capital system to flourish is the reason for our great success.
The “Dark Ages” was a time in European history when all manner of human spirit was repressed not just art and writings and knowledge but the basic spirit it self was suppressed. The Renaissance period was a re- awakening of the spirit in Europe, just as the forming of a new nation was ours here in America.
Now however we find ourselves about to embark upon a new “Dark Ages.” I’m sure you are asking yourself, what is this lunatic talking about now? Well I’ll try to explain.
Here we are at a critical point in U.S. politics where a man that has no business even being in the race (and I use that term very loosely) is looking like he may win the presidency. Let me clarify that statement. The reason I say he has no business even being in the race is this, ask yourself this question; if Obama were a white person with that many dubious connections to such undesirable characters, would he even be in the race at this point? The answer to that would be no, if you are being truthful. Another question, once again if he were a white person would all his proposals and ideologies be glossed over and not analyzed to this extent? Once again if you are being truthful the answer would be no. So if you are laboring under the false allusion that this is not about race you are sadly mistaken. There is no racism here, there is no bigotry, there is no antipathy, just straightforward pragmatic thinking and observation. What saddens and worries me the most is how easily people can be led astray. There seems to be no discernable reason for the popularity of Obama. I hope dearly that it is not his ideology or proposals, for if it is those things that are fueling his popularity I am truly surprised. I am surprised because I can’t believe that a country and society that has become so affluent is willing to throw it all away by electing a man that wants to model this country after Europe, the exact place we broke away from, the exact socialist way of government and an ideology that suppresses the human spirit rather than allowing it to be free and prosper. Please don’t let demagoguery, or white guilt, or a misplaced hope guide your choice in electing a new president. Think about the future of the country and the next generations. Don’t forget Obama will use ideology as a trait for appointing Supreme Court justices. A justice is suppose to be appointed by their ability to interpret the constitution not legislate from the bench. If there are indeed three justices to be appointed in the next administration they will dictate the direction of the country for years to come. Remember they are there to adjudicate not to legislate. If McCain is the one to appoint new justices he would appoint them according to their abilities, not ideology, he has proved that by his past votes for justices.
In a nutshell what we have is a man that wants to plunge us into what we escaped two hundred and thirty some years ago, what we fought such hard won victories for, some of them pyrrhic victories indeed, and a man that wants to let the proven spirit of this country soar and grow to be what it was meant to be all those many years ago. A country that if allowed to flourish as a free society, capital system, and a country of entrepreneurs will once again be the shining city on the hill.
