Our Government let us down

How did we ever get to this point. Well, that question isn't exactly the question we should ask, most of us know how we got here. The question is, with all the people we have in charge in every aspect of the financial theater in this country, why is it that not even one of the hundreds possibly thousands of people in charge that are suppose to be looking out for us warned us? Our elected officials and their appointees just let things go beyond the point of no return. Not one of those greedy, self serving, money grubbing walking sphincters even hinted towards a problem. The few lawmakers that did voice concern got buried in the kluge that is the convoluted mess in Washington and Wall Street. This should never have been allowed to happen in our country. We have so many checks and balances and yet we were let down and our government was complicit in that the people appointed to warn of these pitfalls were so busy worrying about themselves that they couldn't possibly do what they were put there to do. Folks we have to get people in there that are willing and able to reform the mess we have. We are better that this, by far. We need to get our self esteem and pride back. We need to have people in place that will actually do their jobs and look out for us. I'm not one that wants more government intervention, but we won't need any more government control just get the people to do their jobs correctly. This Congress is about the most useless group of all time. It reminds me of Emperor Caligula appointing his horse Incitatus as a senator. The group we have there are just about as useless. Oh wait, I'm wrong here, Incitatus was much better, at least you could ride the horse, but I see that the same stuff comes out of the mouths of our lawmakers as what comes out of the rear end of the horse.

I absolutely agree. The United States is much better than this.
