Although America is ubiquitous in its world support we are upbraided relentlessly by countries the globe over.
This may well raise a question in the minds of right thinking individuals. Okay, here is the upshot of this excoriation. They say we are a large producer of pollution even though we spend more on cleaning up our industrial waste that anyone in the world, bar none. To those critics of our industrialization I say; we can easily curtail our pollution and thereby actually clean the atmosphere, of course that would do nothing to address the biggest polluters on the planet now, China, India, and per capita a multitude of other semi-third world or developing countries.
However the actions taken would cause another condemnation of the U.S. Here goes, as we support with financial aid, 150 countries around the world, with 38.7 Billions of our dollars it apparently is not enough for some. Want to know what is troubling about that? There are only around 200 countries, hello! Why is anyone bitch’n about our aid? Oh wait, I get it, they want more, let me see, wouldn’t that cause more pollution? The answer would be yes. The most exasperating part of the whole thing is that the same who complain about the one are also the same who complain about the other, what a dilemma. Okay so if we cut back on aid and become more separate we could solve the pollution problem. Oh, oh, do I see a paradox coming? Why I believe I do. We Spend 38.7 Billion on foreign aid, but we pollute, yet we can get a handle on the pollution by cutting aid, if we do we are condemned for not caring, and becoming separatists. In this modern world separatism would never work. We need to temper and balance all factors before we act. So as I see it what we have is a catch 22. Lest we forget, the top of the heap or the king of the hill is always the one everybody tries to put down. No one would ever admit it, but jealousy plays a big roll in all this. Oh yeah, why else would so many keep criticizing someone who is doing a yeoman’s job? Of course this only takes into account the monetary aspect. Add to that the military, oh yeah, that money is figured into our military budget. Again here we have just the dollars, none of this takes into account the prices we pay that are more dearly paid for with human life. I bet you think that is the end? Not hardly, now take into account all the private aid we as a country give and it boggles the mind to think that anyone, anywhere could possibly fault us for what we do. One more sad testimony to all this is that, you always expect to hear dissension from some ranks, what is disturbing is that some of the loudest voices come from our own countrymen. (Enter first amendment and people like Michael Moore and Jane Fonda) I just wish when they were bashing the U.S. they would remember some of the good we do worldwide and temper their rhetoric accordingly. Some of those type get so bitter with their vitriol you would think they actually hate this country.
If you think all this is confusing, take heart. The world leaders in their infinite wisdom can’t even figure out how many countries there actually are. The numbers run from 168 to 211 (United Nations has 192)
