Founding fathers ideals

What ever happened to the founding father’s ideals? What ever happened to the power stemming and flowing from the people to the government, not from the government to the people. What ever happened to God given inalienable rights? Want me to tell you what I think? I know you just can’t wait. Well here goes; you know the old saw about putting a frog into warm water and then slowly bringing the temperature up to near a boil until the frog croaks? (pun intended) The frog basically goes out happy. I believe that is where we are in the rights department. We keep giving more and more power and rights to the government and with each little chink in the armor of our rights we bleed out, not only our rights, but somewhere in it all we loose some of our humanity as well. This all happens over a long period of time, so slowly that it is hardly noticeable, by minutiae not any grandiose measure. It’s the death by a thousand cuts that sometimes hurts far greater than any sudden traumatic experience.
Well, you asked for it, it’s not pretty, but than again losing ones rights and self-worth never is. Don’t you think it’s high time we took back a few of our rights, stop some of these entitlement programs that keep people dependent upon the government and vote in some people that want smaller government with less control over our lives? Oh those of you who whine about this administration and its spending policies are not too far off the mark. Just remember this; the congress is the body that actually spends the money. They appropriate the funds, the president puts forth his requests and our wonderful elected cognoscenti do the dirty deed. Need I remind anyone that the party in majority is the Democratic Party? Don’t sit on your hands when it’s time to be counted. Vote your conscience and bring control back where it belongs, or very, very soon we will be bidding a fond adieu to the free market, capitalist system and saying hello to socialism.
